Dental Bridges

A dental bridge, often referred to as a fixed partial denture, is an effective solution for people who are missing one or more teeth. Your dentist will place a dental crown on the teeth on either side of your gap, and then fabricate a tooth-colored replacement for your missing tooth or teeth. Unlike dentures, which are removable and must be placed in your mouth daily, a dental bridge stays in place, restoring both your smile and confidence.

A dental bridge is likely to be your solution if you are affected by a gap through missing teeth and have teeth remaining on either side of the gap. With a dental bridge, not only will your gap be filled but it will also act as a protection against chipping, breaking or other damage that could be caused to your natural teeth. 

A dental bridge is placed in between your teeth that are on either side of the gap. This will be attached to molars on each side of the gap or to your front teeth and provides strength, style and function back to your smile. A replacement tooth is attached to a durable metal scaffold, creating a permanent and seamless solution to the gap in your smile.

A dental bridge will be made from a selection of different materials, with zirconia being one option. Porcelain-fused-to-metal or PFM is another option available. Your dentist will discuss your options with you, as well as show you samples of the materials and the kind of bridges that are available. A dental bridge can replace one, two or even three teeth in your mouth, depending on what your dentist recommends for you during your consultation.
